Welcome to Mountain View Veterinary Care! We’re pleased to provide a wide variety of veterinary services for dogs and cats in Greensburg and surrounding areas including Pittsburgh, Murrysville, Export, Delmont, New Alexandria, Latrobe, Youngwood, Jeannette, Irwin, North Huntingdon, and Ligonier to name a few.

We are service-oriented and strive to make the entire veterinary care experience rewarding. We achieve this by partnering with owners to develop a diagnostic and care plan individualized to their pets.

Our Team

Melissa Ackerman, DVM

Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Melissa Ackerman graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After practicing in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and Virginia for 7 years, she moved to Greensburg in 2006. She worked at several other veterinary clinics prior to creating Murrysville Veterinary with two local colleagues. After three and a half years with MVA, she decided to move her base of operations closer to home and opened Mountain View Veterinary Care. While Doctor Ackerman enjoys all aspects of general practice, she does have a special interest in reproduction and has the pleasure of working with many great breeders in the Pittsburgh area.  She has bred and shown West German show line German Shepherds since the nineties and has shared her life with German Shepherds for over 30 years. When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and travelling with her husband John and daughter Bel.

Alexis Baney, DVM

Veterinarian 

Dr. Alexis Baney grew up in central Pennsylvania and attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh PA for her undergraduate degree. She received her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed a one-year veterinary internship at Brandon Equine Medical Center in Florida. Dr. Baney has a background in both small animal and equine medicine. She spent the last 6 years at Allegheny Equine in Murrysville PA. She has a special interest in dentistry and lameness.  In her free time, Dr. Baney enjoys spending time with her family, attending agility competitions with her dogs, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding and traveling.

Debbie Bacha

Practice Manager

Debbie worked in the human resource field for 20 years before deciding to pursue her love of animals and become a licensed veterinary technician in 2014. Debbie worked as a licensed technician for several years before becoming a veterinary hospital manager. She is currently taking classes to receive her Certification as a Veterinary Practice Manager. She lives in Greensburg with her husband and their two dogs and two cats. Debbie and her husband have three daughters and one granddaughter. When Debbie is not working, she enjoys working out; spending time outside hiking; and most importantly spending time with her family.

Brianna Aikens

Certified Veterinary Technician

Brianna graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2019 after making a career change and following her passion of working with animals. In her free time, she enjoys being outside, and spending time with her boyfriend and their pets: Lyra, Luna, Binx, and Crosby. She enjoys meeting your pets everyday, always loving and treating them as her own!

Ranae Poponick

Certified Veterinary Technician

Ranae graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2011. Her love for animals and medicine started when she was just a little girl. She has 2 English bulldogs, Minion and Agnes. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Josh and her son Lincoln.

Amy Waltz

Veterinary Technician

Amy Waltz worked in shelter medicine with Dr. Ackerman for many years and has now made the move to private practice. She has been a therapeutic laser technician for 8 years and feels there is honestly nothing better than being able to help relieve an animal’s pain. She has 5 amazing adult kids plus her pack that consists of 2 great rescue dogs: a Pitbull named Gadget and a 100 lb Great Pyrenees/Boxer mix named Quinn; plus a cat, 2 rabbits, 3 chinchillas and a bearded dragon.

Haley Fallat

Veterinary Technician

Haley has worked in the veterinary field since 2015 after graduating from the Vet Tech Institute. She grew up on a farm and has always had a love for animals. She has had many different animals but currently has a Pitbull mix named Franklin and a bunny name Player. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and taking Franklin for walks.

Lily Barta

Veterinary Technician

Lily graduated from Greater Latrobe High School and went on to pursue her love for animals at the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh. She has had many pets throughout her life including dogs, ferrets, turtles, iguanas, snakes and rabbits. As she works as a veterinary technician, her love for animals grows every day.

Maddie Barbarino

Veterinary Technician

Maddie graduated from Vet Tech Institute in 2015. She started her career working in large animal veterinary medicine for the past seven years. She came to Mountain View Veterinary Care to continue her career in small animal veterinary medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys training, showing, and trail riding her Friesian sport horse, Tina. She also enjoys going on adventures with her fiancé Tyler and her boxer Jäger.

 

Isabella Ervin

Veterinary Technician

Isabella graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh in 2022. She has always had an interest in medicine and so much love for animals; the veterinary field was a perfect fit! Isabella has had many pets throughout her life but currently has a tuxedo cat named Scarlett Witch and a tabby named Rhodey. She also has a rabbit named Pepper Potts. In her free time, Isabella loves watching movies, going to hockey games, and spending time with her family.
