Our Team

Melissa Ackerman, DVM

Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Melissa Ackerman graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After practicing in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and Virginia for 7 years, she moved to Greensburg in 2006. She worked at several other veterinary clinics prior to creating Murrysville Veterinary with two local colleagues. After three and a half years with MVA, she decided to move her base of operations closer to home and opened Mountain View Veterinary Care. While Doctor Ackerman enjoys all aspects of general practice, she does have a special interest in reproduction and has the pleasure of working with many great breeders in the Pittsburgh area.  She has bred and shown West German show line German Shepherds since the nineties and has shared her life with German Shepherds for over 30 years. When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and travelling with her husband John and daughter Bel.

Mary Criado, DVM

Dr. Criado was born and raised in Murrysville, PA. She completed her undergrad degree from Duquesne University and graduated from Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. While Dr. Criado loves working with dogs and cats, she also loves to see pocket pets and some exotics. Her special interests include surgery, ultrasound and physical rehabilitation. She has a special place in her heart for Labrador Retrievers and any mixed breed! When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two cats (Crusty and Cora) and her two dogs (MoJo and Irene).
